The Current State of the Music Business

ABC Pictures became keenly aware of the dramatic shift the music promotion business took when the independent music artist began finding less need for large record and promotion companies. Our buyers became thousands of independent musicians and labels who were now able to easily promote themselves. We had to quickly learn to reach these individual artists with our message instead of reaching them through one record company. This shift of paradigm was and still is even greater for the musicians and record companies. Year's after the shift began there remains huge dangling questions when it comes to how the music industry should reshape itself in order to make money and to give the fans what they want.
